MOVING FORWARD

Our Vision

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Party.

We are the oldest living culture on the planet, occupying this land for over 60,000 years. This party is a meeting place for all our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations to gather, form policy, celebrate their ancestry and create a permanent platform to manage their affairs, to have a say in our future.

It is our vision that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations will join our party and have a say on land management to prevent bush fires, management of fresh and saltwater resources and flora and fauna. Each nation will be able to report to our party on natural resources and well as other matters affecting their nations. We will be in constant communication with all first nations communities.

We will work with the Federal and State Governments to use this information for Governments to make changes not just for our mob but for all Australian. We will have a say on matters such as Mining, Climate change, Immigration, Land and resources management. Who has a better record on the environment than the First Nations people?

The Federal Government should welcome our initiative to form a party. Our country is changing by the day. In a country of twenty-Six million people (26,000, 000), we are in the minority, however, we are the First Nations people of our country. The Federal Government should be looking to reconciliation with our nations, as we saw 250 years ago, our country was invaded by England. Standing at Cooks landing site recently, I tried to imagine a modern-day invasion, what would it look like?

Another invasion will not come from people walking onto land and claiming that land is theirs, the next invasion, if it happens, could be by technology, by people located in other countries. We have already seen how the American elections have been affected. By the Australian Government working with ATSIP, we can make reconciliation happen, and further entrench our nations forever. Remember, we love Australia, we support the Government of the day and the Monarchy.
